History
Ally was born at a wolf breeder's in Alaska to be sold as someone's pet. Selling and breeding wolves and wolf-dogs is illegal in the state, but the breeder always found ways to circumvent the law. Ally was sold to a new owner, but eventually escaped. Fish and Game later captured Ally and planned to euthanize her. Luckily, Karen and Linda stepped in; they have been working against breeders in Alaska and trying their hardest to give these animals a new chance at life. Karen and Linda compromised with Fish and Game to let Ally live, which Fish and Game agreed to as long as they could find Ally a permanent home outside of the state. While Ally lived in Linda's backyard with her two dogs, the women contacted us to see if we could fly to Alaska and rescue Ally. Due to the desperation of the situation, as well as looking for a new girlfriend for Flurry, we agreed. Although the flight was long and the trip was grueling, Ally made it safely to the Sanctuary.
How Can I Help Ally?
It takes fifteen sponsors to provide the basic care for each of our wolves and wolf-dogs for an entire year. This does not include the cost of medication, vet visits, enclosures repairs, or enrichment treats.
Profile
Bio: Ally is a high-content wolf-dog, mostly Timber wolf.
Living Arrangements: Ally lives with an Arctic wolf, Flurry.
Am I On the Tour Path? "Yes, and I am usually curious by the tour group and will walk down to the front of the fence to take a look."
Personality: Ally is still somewhat shy, but the longer she lives at the Sanctuary, the better she is getting around people. She is intensely curious about happenings inside her enclosure and will investigate caretakers and toys alike. She like to sneak up on her caretaker and bit him or her on the butt. Ally and Flurry's relationship stared off rocky, but now the two enjoy each other's compnay.
Likes: Fence-fighting, other canines, and various treats and breakfast items.
Dislikes: Flurry picking on her, feeling cornered, and fasting days.
Fun Fact: Ally has some bragging rights - she met Caesar Milan and his staff! On their way back from Alaska, Leyton and Angel arranged a meeting with Caesar Milan. Naturally, they had Ally with them, and so she got to meet the canine guru!
My Wishlist: "I am so curious by the wide variety of treats and food given at Wild Spirit. Particularly, I love the Waggin' Train Chicken Jerky that tour guides pass out. Could someone please send some?"
