History
Angel was rescued from Albuquerque Animal Control when she was younger by a previous volunteer, Brett. Her skittish personality and nervousness around people made it clear to us that she would never make a good pet, and so she was brought here to Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary. It might also be possible that she was previously abused, considering her initial fear of humans.
How Can I Help Angel?
It takes fifteen sponsors to provide the basic care for each of our wolves and wolf-dogs for an entire year. This does not include the cost of medication, vet visits, enclosures repairs, or enrichment treats.
Profile
Bio: Angel is possibly a low-content wolf-dog, or might be a pure dog.
Living Arrangements: Angel lives with a dog named Two Toe.
Am I On the Tour Path? "Yes, although I usually remain lying down unless the tour guide brought treats."
Personality: Angel can be extremely skittish if the mood strikes her, but with her current companion, she is getting braver. She likes to play a game where it looks like she is going to come over before scampering off. When she is in a social mood, she is playful and might like minor scratches. Angel and Two Toe are still working out relationship differences, but it is getting better every day.
Likes: Gentle scratches under her chin, items that she can steal, and yelling at animals going for a walk.
Dislikes: Loud noises, caretakers approaching heads-on, and being left behind when a companion goes out for a walk.
Fun Fact: Angel can go out for walks, but tends to get cold feet, making it very difficult to get her on a leash. Once she is out, she has a blast, but can never seem to get over her initial fear. What makes the whole situation more strange is she get furiously jealous if one of her companions goes out on a walk without her!
My Wishlist: "I love toys! Squeaky toys, plushy toys, bouncy toys...anything I can chew up is tons of fun! It would be wonderful if I could be brought some brand new toys (that lack my chew marks).
