| Bao was owned by a family who loved him very much and took good care of him as a pet. Sadly, divorce broke the family apart, which started a downward-spiral for Bao. He and his mate, Raina, experienced many of the trials of a broken home, including horrific "foster homes" and several hurried moves. However, Bao always had his mate to rely on, and together they survived the experiences. Unfortunately, before arriving at our sanctuary, Bao lost his life-partner and security blanket, Raina, when she was put to sleep due to a brain tumor. |

Bao was a very shy man who preferred to remain to himself. If anyone approached his enclosure, he ran to the top of the hill. However, Bao was very curious and would often come down to investigate after a caretaker or tour left the area. He lived with the female wolf Juneau, and although they primarily left each be, a volunteer who was sneaky enough could spot the two cuddling near the front of the enclosure. Bao developed a tumor on his lower back that pressed down on his spinal cord, which caused him to be paralyzed. We took him to the vet, and he was euthanized.
Bao was a mid-content wolf dog. He passed away at age seventeen. |
