Kaisa's story begins with her parents, who were among a group of fifteen animals rescued from a puppy mill. The owner of the puppy mill kept his animals chained and starved. One of the rescuers, a kind man named Dan, built enclosures for all of the rescued animals. However, since the cost of such a project drained all his resources, he could not get his animals spayed or neutered. A litter was born from two of the animals and Dan called the sanctuary to see if we could place them. At the time, one of the animals at our sanctuary, Dancer, had recently lost his mate and was extremely depressed. Seeing Dancer desperate for companionship, we went to pick up two pups from the litter. We found Kaisa and her brother, Kireon, and decided they would be perfect with Dancer. Dancer fell in love with Kaisa and became the perfect pair; however, Kieron became jealous, and he and Dancer began to fight for dominance. We removed Kiereon and found him a loving home while Kaisa remained with her mate. |

Kaisa was a sweet energetic animal who loved attention in any form. She was famous for her loud barks and howls that she tended to vocalize when people passed her enclosure. When inside with her, Kaisa would bound over with her tail wagging. She did not like it when people stood over her; instead, she preffered for the person to sit at eye level. Kaisa was not normally expressive with her love, but would gently lick people on the face of those she truly attached herself to. Kaisa was living by herself since her mate, Dancer, passed away, until she was adopted out by her new family. She is now very happy at her new home, and the news is that she sleeps on the bed and wants to spend all of her time indoors. We wish Kaisa a happy life with her adopted family and hope for the very best!
Kaisa is a suspected very low-content wolf dog; possibly pure dog with malamute or husky. |
