Mr. Cheyenne was bought from a breeder in North Carolina. His owner, before getting Mr. Cheyenne, had purchased a female wolf dog. The owner realized that he female needed a companion, and had asked the breeder for advice. Once there, she saw Mr. Cheyenne living in horrible conditions, and immediately purchased him for her female. The owner was very responsible for her animals, doing everything to make them comfortable and safe. Unfortunately, the one thing she forgot proved vital: ground wire. The female wolf dog escaped already two times, but always came back home. On the third time, however, she was shot by a neighbor. Mr. Cheyenne became mournful and started to act out; he searched for an escape and howled long into the night. His owner realized she could not properly take care of Mr. Cheyenne anymore, so she brought him to us. |

Mr. Cheyenne was a peaceful and calm animal that seemed to observe everything with contentment. He was also curious, and would often come down to the fence when tours walked by. Mr. Cheyenne did not like to be touched or pet, but instead preferred to be talked to quietly. He was given two female wolves to join him in his enclosure: Kamia and Maki. He became the lowest ranking of the "pack", and although he was ocassionally beat up by the two females, he was satisfied with his placement. Everything was going well until one fateful evening when a volunteer performing Guard Duty found Mr. Cheyenne dead from gastric torsion. His body was brought to the vet and cremated.
Mr. Cheyenne was a very high-content wolf dog, with possible Timber wolf. He passed away at age five. |
