| Princess came to Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary with her offspring Geronimo and Duchess when we accepted a staff member who owned the family group. The woman who owned the threesome had raised Duchess and Geronimo from pups, and for the early part of their lives, they were well-socialized and even used as ambassadors at two previous wolf centers. As they matured, however, the intense socialization decreased and they were left with little attention from outside sources. While the staff member is no longer present at the Sanctuary, the trio remained with us and Wild Spirit has accepted resonsiblity for their permanent care and sanctuary. |

Princess was an unpredictable girl; one moment she was very sweet, the next, she was lunging at the fence! However, most of the time, she was friendly. When in the mood, she wanted attention from her caretaker or other staff members; she seemed especially affectionate towards women. Food was one thing that made her mood turn quickly, for she was very food aggressive and despised anyone around when she ate. Princess absolutely hated contained situations, and would sometimes turn aggressive if she found herself in one. Princess was living by herself until her new "trophy husband" appeared - Axel. Although there was something of an age difference, the two made a stunning couple. Princess passed away quickly and unexpectedly one day, probably to her liking. We were glad she was able to go so painlessly.
Princess was a wolf; part Arctic wolf, part Timber wolf. She passed away at the age of fifteen. |
