| Zoe is one of our mystery animals; she came to us from the New Jersey Humane Society. Picked up running the streets somewhere in New Jersey, Zoe, along with a wolf dog named Pacer, lived two years at the Popcorn Zoo, which was run by the Humane Society. Both she and Pacer were very fortunate, as most animal agencies do not have the space to keep suspected wolf dog crosses and will routinely euthanize them. In the summer of 1994, we were contacted by the New Jersey Humane Society and we agreed to take Zoe and Pacer. They arrived that October, with Zoe being put in with Loki and Zuni. |

Zoe was a beautiful, sweet girl that caught the love of every caretaker. She liked to scent roll on whoever was in her enclosure, and any females would soon be robbed of their chapstick. Zoe often played the "pounce game", and would pee on any unsuspecting cleaning bucket. She would become nervous around loud noises or fast movements; she hated any suprises. Zoe was the alpha over Loki and Zuni. Once they passed, she was put in with the man Ishi. The two loved each other very much, and during Zoe's final hours, Ishi stayed right by her side, ocassionaly touching noses with her to see if she was still doing okay.
Zoe was a pure Buffalo Plains wolf. She passed away at age seventeen. |
