| Artemesia grew up under the care of an irresponsible breeder from Southern Portland who mistreated his animals. A doctor, after discovering the horrible conditions at the breeder's facility, secretly shot video footage and exposed him. The doctor rescued Artemesia when she was twelve weeks old and took her home, but although he became deeply attached to her, he felt she would do better at our sanctuary, and so brought her to us. |

Artemesia is a very sweet animal who loves attention. However, since her mate Ghengis Khan is extremely dominant, we can give her little physical interaction. Artemesia enjoys playing through the fence, in which she will chase after you and bark crazily. She lost her left ear by the teeth of Ghengis Khan, who disciplined her when she did not listen to him. However, she does not seem bothered by it, and still can be seen standing by Ghengis' side.
Artemesia is a pure dog and is possibly a cross between Border Collie and Siberian Husky. |
