Embla

Embla came with her sister while they were puppies during the year 1999. Embla's sister was a social enough animal to be adopted out of our sanctuary to a good home; however, Embla proved to contain too much of the shyness found in a wolf and could not be adopted out like her sister. For that reason, Embla stayed here with us at the sanctuary.

Embla is a sweet girl but still is extremely shy. When a volunteer is in her enclosure, Embla tends to stay near the back; however, she is also very curious, and will sniff at a person she trusts. Despite occasionaly coming up for attention, Embla rarely wants to be pet or stared at, and will become nervous if approached. She lived with her mate, Lupe, and the two of them usually hung out at the back of their enclosure. Lupe unfortunately passed away, and Embla was introduced to Zeus. Embla fell heads-over-heels in love with her new strapping young man, and the two are now an adorable pair.

Embla is a very low-content wolf dog, possibly a husky and chow mix.
