Hooter, along with her mate Greebo, lived in Virginia with a loving owner who bottle raised them. Unfortunately, one day Hooter and Greebo were in their backyard with the landlady's cat. They killed the cat in front of the landlady, and furious, the landlady ordered the animals removed or else she would have them euthanized. The owner, wanting the best for her animals, donated money to our sanctuary in exchange for us taking her animals. We agreed, and Hooter with her mate Greebo arrived at our sanctuary in August of 1997. |

Hooter is a sweet animal who loves people. She likes it when her caretakers get down to her level so she can easily lick them on the face. She also will duck between her caretaker's legs as they clean her water bucket. When not with humans, Hooter spends most of her time either sleeping, digging, or playing in her water bucket. Although she loves attention, Greebo, who she still lives with, will sometimes bully her around to receive all the attention himself. Since Hooter dislikes conflict, she will usually just walk away. Her favorite place to sleep is in her box and will spend most of the day in there. Hooter is currently up for adoption, and because of her loving attitude, would do great with a warm family.
Hooter is a suspected very low-content wolf dog. |
