Sugar

Just a few days after birth, Sugar wandered off from her mother and the rest of her litter. Because of this, the original owner began bottle feeding and caring for her right from the beginning. When we heard about Sugar, Leyton, our director, had an immediate affinity for this little girl and when we were planning on receiving only two of the cubs, it was hoped that she might be one of them. Before even arriving at the Sanctuary, Leyton had already named this little girl and her brother, Powder. While the other four cubs spent all of their time in the office with Angel, Sugar and Powder spent their days at the Sanctuary and then evenings and over-nights with Leyton and Georgia and their daughter Lakota right from the start.

Sugar is an extremely cuddly little girl and out of all of the puppies, she has shown the most attachment to a human thus far. She knows her "daddy", Leyton, very well and will come running to his voice to simply plop down in his lap and roll over for a long and satisfying belly rub. Once there, if other puppies try to find some space as well, Sugar viciously protects "her" lap. Sugar also thinks she is a "water-wolf" and often tries to swim in her water bucket as well as take naps in it.

Sugar is an Arctic wolf.
