Thunder-Bob

When the cubs arrived at the Sanctuary, they were all given tentative names until permanent ones were determined. We had all discussed how we wanted to stay away from the typical wolf names usually taken from Gods and Indian Tribes, etc., and it was a running joke that we should have a wolf named "Bob". And so for the first several weeks, the largest of the male pups was good ol' Bob. Several other names were tried on Bob including Thor and Thunder. Thunder seemed to be a good choice and while we tried to make the transition, everyone was still stuck on calling him Bob. Now, we have made a compromise and this handsome fellow is commonly referred to as "Thunder-Bob".

When first arriving at the Sanctuary, Thunder-Bob was the largest (and plumpest) of all the Arctic pups. While still the tallest, it seems Thunder has gone through a growth spurt making him long and lanky and looking more like a mini-wolf than a puppy these days. Thunder was the first of the pups to howl along side a human caretaker and seems very in tune with human emotions; however, when new people and new circumstances are involved, he often times shies away. He has a very laid-back personality and still spends a lot of time lounging on couches and armchairs at his surrogate human-mother's house. He also has quite the liking for orange soda, and attempts to get a little sip and scent rolls anytime he is drinking it. He loves going for long walks, hanging out with adult doggy friends and climbing on any new surface.

Thunder-Bob is an Arctic wolf.
