Cheyenne

Cheyenne was brought to Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Fish, Game and Parks in South Dakota after having several owners. She had a reputation for being an escape artist and a one-girl demolition team, and so moved to many different homes before arriving at the park. The park people wanted to put her down but a man named Larry Fiddler stepped in and took her. He kept her for several months until he found our place and asked if we could take her. One of our animals recently lost his mate and so we decided to take her. And, of course, she destroyed our van on the way to the sanctuary!

Cheyenne is the perfect specimen of a happy-go-lucky sweetheart who loves attention in any form! When anyone approaches her enclosure she will wag her tail lowly and whimper begging for some love. Cheyenne is tremendously playful and will turn anything into a toy. She especially loves to steal articles of clothing from anyone who enters her enclosure, including shoes which she will rip off your feet! She lives with her mate, Raven, and the two have a great relationship. However, Raven has his paws full! He will try to keep Cheyenne under control by disciplining her when she acts too wild, but most of the time, he will just calmly tolerate her antics. When they first met Cheyenne was initially fearful of Raven, but warmed up to him quickly. The only thing that upsets Cheyenne is when her mate gets more attention than she does and then she will try all of her tricks to steal the attention back. Cheyenne recently appeared in Richard Gere's new movie, The Flock, which will be coming out sometime in October of 2007.

Cheyenne is a Timber wolf.
