Volunteers will be trained on various computer tasks, including replying and sending email, entering information into a database and researching on the internet. Since we receive many phone calls from people wanting us to take in their wolves or wolf-dogs, volunteers might spend time researching different rescue agencies and referring them to the owners. Typing up documents is another task performed by administration.

Our newsletter, The Howling Reporter, is published four times a year, and includes information about the sanctuary and the animals. Articles can be written by creative volunteers, or may assist in basic editing. Volunteers are trained on how to properly organize and create a mass-market publication, and the steps that are involved to ensure a sucessful shipping. Although all volunteers help with the mailing of the newsletters, volunteers in administration will aid in the more detailed organization and printing.

The website is one of the most vital communication tools we use to reach the public. The website will need to be updated once a week, and new sections will be added when needed. Pictures for the website can be edited by volunteers, and graphic creation is always in need.

There are various paper tasks that need to be performed in administration. Replying and sending mail is done almost every day, especially after the release of the newsletter. At the sanctuary, we reply directly to every donation we receive, and volunteers can expect to help stamp envelopes and sort through addresses. Administrative volunteers may also be asked to assemble educational material.
