Seller: US Animal Nutritionals
Price: $100.80
Website: www.usanimalnutritionals.com - Dasuquin for Large Dogs - 150ct Bottle
Dasuquin is the best joint supplement on the market, and rightfully so, is more expensive than our budget allows. It was recommended to us by our veterinarian to help any of our animals with developing or existing joint problems. All of our animals would benefit from this supplement, but we would like to get Riot and Akela started on Dasuquin right away.

Website: www.1800petmeds.com - Double Strength Joint Discovery
We give Joint Discovery to all of our older animal who have problems with their hips and joints. Joint Discovery would be better as a preventive against these future problems. Website: www.shopusanimal.com - Garden of Life Primal Defense (powder)
Primal Defense is a probiotic supplement. Probiotics are bacteria that help maintain the natural balance of organisms (microflora) in the intestines. We typically give probiotics to animals who were just given antibiotics, as well as give it to animals that are having gastrointestinal issues. We are looking for the powder form.

Administration/Office
- GENERAC Automatic Standby Generator
Power outages are not uncommon at Wild Spirit, especially during winter or during monsoon season. It's not just an annoyance - the office and gift shop get shut down, the freezers and refrigerators in wolf kitchen turn off, and the Sanctuary is left without water until the electricity returns. GENERAC offers propane-powered generators that turn on automatically when the power is cut. We hope to have several all over the Sanctuary, but for right now, the well-house and office are top priority. Any size is welcome, but naturally, the bigger the unit, the better it will be for the Sanctuary.
Seller: Home Depot
Price: Price varies by size: $1,980.00 - $13,999.00

Animal Care/Wolf Kitchen
- Vinyl and Latex Gloves
We take the health of our volunteers seriously, which is why we require everyone to wear vinyl or latex gloves when handling raw meat. We go through gloves at an extremely fast rate - we use them at feeding, while sorting through raw meat, or when prepping tomorrow's meals. We could use all sizes, and hope to receive a mixture of both vinyl and latex gloves to accommodate volunteers with latex or powder allergies.
Seller: Don the Glove, various medical supply stores
Price: $4.04 - $5.23 per box of 100 gloves
Website: www.dontheglove.com - Light-weight square-nosed shovels and hoes
When we clean enclosures, we don't use plastic bags - each volunteers uses a shovel and hoe to "scoop" the waste into a 5-gallon bucket. The shovel, hoe, and bucket are carried by the caretakers as they walk around the enclosure. Over time, the shovels and hoes become damaged, or when we have many volunteers, there are not enough to go around. We would love if we were donated a few square-nose shovel and hoe pairs. We would like them to be light since they are carried around.
Seller: Home Depot, Lowe's, various hardware stores
Price: $9.00 - $20.00
Website: www.homedepot.com, www.lowes.com - Heavy Duty Wheel Poly Wheelbarrow
Our wolf kitchen has two wheelbarrows that we use to transport wolf food with. Every Sunday, we pile up the wheelbarrow with wolf loaf and cart it through the Sanctuary to deliver the wolves their breakfast. We also use the wheelbarrows when delivering large rib cages, parts of carcasses, or meaty bones. Our wheelbarrows have seen better days, and it's time to replace them. We need two heavy duty wheelbarrows of the two-wheel variety (instead of one wheel.)
Seller: Home Depot, various hardware/garden stores.
Price: $130.00
Website: www.homedepot.com - Hot Water Hose
The wolf kitchen can become a messy place, which is why a hot water hose is essential. Spraying down meat residue and other grime, we use it at least once a day. Our water hose broke, but luckily we have a back-up to use until we can get a new one. We would love it if someone could send us another hot water hose.
Seller: ToolFetch
Price: $113.58
Website: www.toolfetch.com/ - Garden Ranch 10 ft x 12 ft Tuff Shed
We are looking for a 10 ft by 12 ft Tuff Shed for animal care. The shed will mostly be used for medical supplies, capture equipment, and other miscellaneous supplies. Our animal care office is just not big enough for all of the items we need to properly care for our animals! We understand that Tuff Shed is one of the most expensive building companies, but due to the harsh conditions at the Sanctuary, we need something that can hold up in extreme weather and not ruin our medical supplies.
Seller: Tuff Shed
Price: $2,034.00

Maintenance/Construction
- Flatbed Double-Axel Trailer
Wild Spirit has hauling jobs several times a month, as well as hundred-pound buckets of meat that get picked up in Albuquerque during winter. We need a good, sturdy, and road-worthy flatbed trailer for around the Sanctuary and to haul things to and from the city. Northern Trailer Sales is a New Mexico company that is close enough to us that we could pick up a trailer if someone could help us purchase it.
Seller: Northern Trailer Sales
Price: $1,800.00
Website: www.ntsnm.com - Pressure-treated lumber and deck screws
We have plans to redo our barriers in front of the enclosures. The barriers prevent tour guests from leaning over and touching the wolf enclosures. To reconstruct the barriers, we are going to need 42 pieces of 4 x 4 x 10' pressure-treated lumber. We are also going to need a 25 lbs box of 3" deck screws for all our carpentry work. We would appreciate the materials or gift cards to Lowe's or Home Depot.
Seller: Lowes, Home Depot

Landscaping/Gardening
- Liberty Mosquito Magnet Trap
Mosquitoes never use to be a problem - Wild Spirit was blissfully mosquito-free for many, many years. Then, suddenly, they appeared, and now return every summer. In addition to the general annoyance of the biting pests, they can cause heartworm in the wolves and wolf-dogs. We are hoping that a couple Liberty Mosquito Magnets would solve us of our bug problem. It not only attracts and kills mosquitoes, but also attracts no-see-ums, small biting gnats that wreck havoc on animals and volunteers alike.
Seller: Yardiac, garden supply centers
Price: $489.00

Outreach/Gift Shop
- Gray Fox and Mexican Wolf Replica Skulls
Our education team has plans on bringing more educational materials to outreach events to better teach the public about wolves and other canines. We have a small collection of educational materials, but we would like to improve it by adding replica skulls of the gray fox and Mexican Gray wolf to demonstrate the differences between the species of canine.
Seller: Bone Clones
Price: Gray Fox: $65.00, Mexican Wolf: $185.00

Staff/Volunteers
- Solar Panels
Part of our goal at Wild Spirit is to become as self-sufficient as possible. One way for us to accomplish this is to be "off grid" and reduce energy costs. We would like to start by having all our staff and volunteer housing converted to solar electricity. There are many great resources on the web for solar panels
Seller: Mr. Solar, solar panel specialty stores
Price: $6,875.00 for basic - and up

Everything Else
- Ford F250 or F350 Truck
Eight years ago or so, two people graciously donated two 1980's Ford trucks to the Sanctuary. Sadly, they are all tuckered out and we are in need of some new vehicles. Sturdy, reliable trucks are vital for smooth operations within the Sanctuary during all seasons. We would love a Ford F250 4x4 crew cab long-bed pick-up truck that is gasoline or diesel, or a Ford F350 dually 4x4 crew cab or extended cab, long bed that is diesel. This would be a dream-come-true wish!
Seller: Ford Dealerships
Price: Ford F250: $25,875.00 - $42,955.00, Ford F350: $26,595.00 - $43,845
Website: www.fordvehicles.com - Privacy Fencing
We hope to place privacy fencing all around the Sanctuary. Along with having fences around volunteer housing, privacy fence provides a pleasing look. This type of fence is made of rough cut 3/4 x 5 1/4 x 6' cedar and is usually six to eight feet long panels. We would also gladly accept just the boards alone. We can use as many panels as one can imagine; we have thousands of running feet to cover.
